EXTERNAL CATHETER SYSTEM TO ELIMINATE CAUTIS

INNOVATIVE CATHETER SYSTEM COMFORTABLY EMPTIES THE BLADDER

Ur24Technlogy has developed an innovative solution to prevent Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTIs). This revolutionary catheter system is non-invasive, non-adhesive, latex-free, and easy-to-apply. Ur24Technology has designed the TrueClr external catheter system that is unique to adult males, adult female, and pediatric patients.

Indwelling catheters can cause pain and discomfort at the time of insertion, and while it remains within the patient. Morever, one of the biggest concerns with indwelling catheters is the risk for a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). Catheter-associated UTIs make up approximately 80% of all hospital acquired Urinary Tract Infections. According to the CDC, 15-25% of hospitalized patients receive a urinary catheter during their stay. Urinary Tract Infections can lead to very serious consequences such as kidney infections, kidney disease, kidney damage, and even sepsis.

HOW DOES THE TRUECLR CATHETER SYSTEM DIFFER FROM OTHER EXTERNAL CATHETERS?

There are many differences between the patented TrueClr external catheters and other external catheters on the market.

Three of the most important differences are:

  • TrueClr external catheters virtually eliminate the risk of a Urinary Tract Infection from an indwelling catheter.
  • TrueClr External Catheters do not require the patient to have the necessary muscle control needed to urinate.
  • Nor the ability to recognize that the bladder needs to be emptied.

The TrueClr External Catheters empty the bladder without any effort by the patient. The external catheter features a 10 foot tube that attaches to a urine collection apparatus and a pump. The pump gently extracts the urine, while the built-in filter and unique float valve located int he unit's bottle assembly prevents backflow into the unit. As a result, urine avoids contacting the skin and eliminated potential bacteria contamination.

The TrueClr M is designed for intermittent and continuous use. This model is ideal for those who experience symptoms from Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)/Enlarged Prostate, or other common urinary complications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What components are needed for the TrueClr External Male Catheter system?

For at home usage, the reusable TrueClr Urine Collection Apparatus (UCA), which is the external catheter applied on the patient's body, and an aspirator pump are required. For facility-based use, such as in most hospitals and nursing homes, the UCA will connect to a wall-mounted suction device, so only the UCA is required.

Which aspirator is recommended for at-home usage?

Gomco 405, Vacu-Aide QSU Quiet Suction Unit (7314P-D-UR24), Vacu-Aide Compact Suction Unit (#7310PR), or healthcare facility in-wall aspirator all work with all the TrueClr catheters. We recommend the Vacu-Aide QSU Quiet Suction Unit (7314P-D-UR24).

However, choosing an aspirator is based on the patient's preference.  If the patient wants a smaller unit, then the Vacu-Aide Compact aspirator may fit their needs.  For patients with severe urine retention, then the Gomco 405 may suit them best, because of the higher level of suction.

Is the aspirator easy to use?

The aspirator has an easy to read mm Hg (millimeters of mercury, pressure) gauge, which helps patients and caregivers provide precise measurements of the vacuum pressure. The TrueClr system does not require any medical training to operate.

How large is the collection system?

The Vacu-Aide QSU aspirator collects 800cc, the Gomco 405 aspirator collects 1200c, and the Vacu-Aide Compact Suction Unit collects 725cc.

How does the system prevent bacterial contamination?

The TrueClr collection system has a built-in bacterial filter located in the unit's bottle assembly. It has a unique float valve that prevents backflow into the unit.

Can I reuse the TrueClr Urinary Collection Apparatus (UCA)?

The TrueClr Urinary Collection Apparatus (UCA), the external catheter, is intended for a single user/patient. It may be used for up to 30 days during at-home use, or 15 days of in-facility use.

What maintenance is required for the system?

After each use, wash with soap and water and then rinse thoroughly. You may also apply the suggested antibacterial spray. Some users prefer to use an irrigation catheter syringe when cleaning to flush water through the tubing.

Does the TrueClr External Cather qualify for reimbursement?

TrueClr is covered by Medicare and is reimbursable under Part B DME. Many private insurance companies will cover part or most of the cost. We suggest that you check with your insurance company first. The customer is solely responsible for obtaining insurance through their insurance plan.
